最新一期的地质学报（英文版）刊载封面文章介绍，我国科研人员首次在自然界发现金属铀。这一发现不仅为揭示热液型铀成矿作用本质提供了关键性依据，而且对研究铀的来源、地球热的形成和演化均具有重大意义。

金属铀

铀是核军工的基石，也是重要的核能原料。长期以来，人们认为在自然界没有金属铀。最新的一项研究打破了这一惯常认识。

铀广泛分布于地球中，但由于它的不稳定性和变价性，总是以化合物状态存在着，之前人们在自然界中还未发现有金属铀。

核工业北京地质研究院院长李子颖带领的研究团队采用光电能谱方法，对产于我国典型热液型铀矿床中沥青铀矿的成分和价态进行了系统研究，发现沥青铀矿中铀不仅有四价和六价形式，还以金属铀（零价）形式存在。

热液型铀矿床中铀来自地球深部，由于地球内部的强还原环境，铀在地球内部以金属态或低价态形式存在。当成矿流体将铀带至近地表时，由于氧逸度不断提高，其中大部分铀与氧结合成四价或六价化合物，只有部分铀仍然保持金属态。李子颖认为，通过零价、四价或六价铀在热液铀矿床矿石中所占的比例，可以反映矿石形成的深度。这一重大发现为揭示热液铀成矿作用本质机理和控矿要素提供了关键性依据，且具有重要实际价值。

此次研究的沥青铀矿样品采自我国著名贵东330铀矿床和诸广302铀矿床。两矿床均产于广东省北部，属于重要的南岭铀成矿带。光电能谱方法是重要的表面分析技术，不仅能探测物质表面的化学组成，而且可以确定元素的化学价态。
