微软在博客中首次证实“Win8.1 with Bing（Win8.1必应版）”免费提供给OEM合作厂商。同时，借助最新的Win8.1 Update平台，微软允许对应的硬件合作厂商生产更廉价的硬件设备（低配版），这些平板电脑、笔记本电脑、超极本等设备只需1G内存、16G存储空间。
