微软的Xbox 360最近刚刚度过了自己的10周年生日，而它的继任者Xbox One也正好两岁了。在过去的10年里，随着技术逐渐成为我们生活的核心部分，并塑造着我们的社会，整个游戏产业也发生了巨大的变化。

Xbox 360被认为是迄今为止影响力最大的游戏机之一，它在游戏产业当中也留下了难以磨灭的印记。虽然Xbox品牌还在不断发展，但这款畅销游戏机的身影依然存在于微软的未来项目当中。Xbox 360曝光于2005年初，并计划在同年晚些时候发布。这款游戏机拥有两个机型，分别是256MB基础型号和20GB升级版，且都配备了一支无线手柄。

Xbox 360是为了日益流行的在线服务而制作的，而在Xbox Live于2002年正式发布并大获好评之后，在线功能也成为了这款游戏机的主要特色。虽然内置网络适配器的Xbox 360直到2010年才姗姗来迟，但在此之前，用户们可以单独购买外置网络适配器，并将其固定在机身预留的位置上。Xbox 360在市场上获得了很好的反响，并很快登陆到了世界更多地区（除了日本）。这款设备同时也获得了很高的二次出售价值。

Xbox 360拥有18款首发游戏，虽然当中许多都不是什么革命性的作品，但也不乏《完美黑暗：零》和《使命召唤2》这样的畅销游戏。直到2007年，Xbox 360的游戏库才得到了大幅拓展，我们也看到了《光晕3》、《质量效应》和《刺客信条》这些重磅作品的问世。目前，Xbox 360大约拥有1200款游戏。

虽然Xbox 360取得了全球性的成功，但它在早些年一直深受硬件问题的困扰，其中最让玩家闻风丧胆的当属“死亡红灯”了。该硬件问题有可能会让Xbox 360损坏而无法使用，这也引发了玩家的抗议。虽然微软延长了保修期并在未来机型中修复了这个问题，但死亡红灯依然是Xbox 360最臭名昭著的问题。

在当时，一场有关物理高清视频介质的争论正在进行当中，参赛双方是蓝光和HD DVD。虽然我们都知道，是蓝光最终赢得了胜利，但Xbox 360当时却站在了HD DVD这一边。在Xbox 360发布一年之后，微软就推出了外置的HD DVD光驱。

PS3和Xbox 360或许抓住了死忠玩家的心，但任天堂Wii也凭借着老少咸宜的体感游戏取得了成功。在看到了其中商机之后，微软也迅速推出了体感外设Kinect，它仅凭摄像头和内置传感器便可进行动作捕捉，因此无需使用物理手柄。但是，体感最终只是一时流行，索尼和微软如今都逐渐放弃了对其的支持。

在Xbox 360的生命周期当中，一共迎来了3次用户界面的大改。它最初搭载的是经典的“Blades”操作系统，当中包含不同的彩色标签，用以显示不同的内容。随后的Next Xbox Experience使用Xbox “Guide”替代了过时的Blades系统，让用户在专门的界面布局当中快速获取功能。而在Kinect发布之后，微软又带来了Metro式的用户界面，来模仿Windows 8操作系统。这种界面风格随后也被应用到了Xbox One当中。
