苹果今日宣布其在中国可再生能源领域及环境保护项目的新进展，包括一项与世界自然基金会(World Wildlife Fund)的长期多年合作计划以显著提升中国负责管理森林(responsibly managed forests)资源。此项新的林地项目旨在保护近百万英亩的负责管理森林，这些森林是纤维纸浆、纸张及木材产品的重要来源。

Apple的目标是实现对全球的可持续原生纤维供应零影响，并在全球范围内所有设施使用100%可再生的能源。

“如同能源，森林也可以成为可再生资源，”Apple环境事务副总裁Lisa Jackson说道。“我们相信我们可以依靠自然的可再生资源运营，确保我们保护并培育更多可持续生态林，力求其产量能等同于用来制造我们产品包装的纸张。这是我们实现此目标及只为世界留下更美好印记的承诺的重要一步。

Apple还宣布将其业界领先的可再生能源项目延展至在中国的生产制造设施。

“我们通过让数据中心，零售店和办公设施使用清洁能源树立榜样，并且已经准备好去引领大家在生产制造中实现碳排放的减少，”Apple CEO Tim Cook表示。“这不可能一蹴而就，实际上需要多年的努力，但这是一件必须要做的重要工作，而Apple愿意主动带头来实现这一远大的目标。这是我们的责任。我们很高兴能够和那些愿意走在中国绿化转型的前沿的供应链中的领导者一起努力。”

三个星期之前，Apple在中国四川建立了第一个太阳能发电项目。该项目生产的清洁能源远多于Apple在中国地区的所有办公室和零售店所需用电。

Apple与乐山电力股份有限公司、四川发展（控股）有限责任公司、天津津联投资控股有限公司、天津中环半导体股份有限公司和美国SunPower公司合作，建设了两个20兆瓦的太阳能农场。该项目每年将生产8000万千瓦时的清洁能源，足以提供大致相当于6.1万个中国家庭的用电量。这些清洁能源将并入电网。

此太阳能项目是精心设计的，不仅考虑到要与大自然和谐共处，更特别注意保护对当地经济也起到重要作用的牦牛赖以生存的草皮。目前，在全球范围内Apple 87%的运营设施采用了可再生能源，而四川省太阳能项目将使Apple更接近达到100%利用可再生能源的目标和承诺。

世界自然基金会(World Wildlife Fund) CEO Lo Sze Ping表示：“Apple对于该项目的支持和它在环境保护领域的领军地位表明，保护森林不仅对社会有益，同时也对商业有益。我们本次合作的主旨是在负责任使用的森林中多产出更多木材，以削减中国的生态足迹。对于世界上最大的木材进口国中国来说这是非常必要的。我们希望这能催化出一个全新的合作模式，将可持续发展的森林管理模式，以及有效并负责地利用造纸资源的理念传播至世界各处。”
