IRONMACE发表声明称：“我们最近收到了Nexon和DMCA关于《Dark and Darker》移除令，这完全扭曲了事实。我们目前正在与我们的法律团队合作以寻找合适的补救措施。在游戏恢复过程中，还请粉丝们耐心等待，我们将为玩家倾尽全力。感谢理解。”

此前，《Dark and Darker》被指控窃取韩国游戏公司Nexon的代码和资源来构建游戏，韩国警方也已对该开发商进行了搜查并没收了与《Dark and Darker》项目有关的材料。据了解，IRONMACE工作室成立初期，工作室成员里就有Nexon的前员工，并且这些员工与Nexon的分手似乎也并不“体面”，产生过不少矛盾。此外，Nexon曾在2021年公开了一款名为“P3”的游戏项目，游戏玩法与《Dark and Darker》类似，但公司后续取消了该项目。IRONMACE曾在2月份就否认了以上指控内容，他们表示绝对没有使用被盗资产或代码来制作游戏。

值得注意的是，《Dark and Darker》此前在2月份进行过一次游戏测试，并得到了不错的反响，新的一轮测试眼看即将在4月14-4月19日在Steam平台上线，游戏确突然下架了。
