据国外媒体报道，火星上存在生命吗？美国宇航局已经在火星上开展了规模化探索，目的就是寻找火星生命。近日，研究人员通过火星探测器的数据发现在撞击坑中存在类似玻璃的物质，其形成于撞击导致的高温环境中，但科学家认为之前的研究显示玻璃内可能存在有机物质，因此这个发现暗示我们能够对撞击坑中的这些物质进行分析，观察是否有有机物质存在其中。这项发现能够为火星这颗红色星球过去是否存在生命提供了新的窗口，或许我们能从中发现与生命有关的线索。

此前的研究表明，有机物质能够存在于玻璃之中，而且可保存非常久的时间，甚至长达数百万年，如果火星撞击坑中也有类似的物质，有望从中找到火星此前存在的有机分子痕迹。参与本项研究的科学家来自布朗大学，研究人员通过火星探测器的数据对撞击坑内部的物质进行分析，利用反射光谱远程识别这些矿物和岩石类型，调查发现撞击坑内部存在玻璃物质，图中绿色的区域，蓝色区域为石，而红色区域表示存在橄榄石物质。

负责该调查的首席科学家为地质学家彼得-舒尔茨，他认为玻璃物质能够保存火星生命痕迹。进一步的调查显示，火星撞击坑中散步着一些古老且保存较好的玻璃物质，这些地点也是未来我们探索火星的地方。扫描火星的探测器为美国宇航局的火星勘测轨道飞行器，该飞船目前运行在火星轨道上，利用侦察成像光谱仪对火星表面进行扫描。彼得-舒尔茨认为这些玻璃物质往往与一些较大的石块混在一起，我们通过成像光谱仪能够将其分离出来。

2020年，美国宇航局还将落实一项火星任务，之后将实施火星表面采样返回计划。发现玻璃物质的地点位于哈格雷夫斯沟槽附近，长度达到400英里，约为640多公里，这里有望成为下一个登陆火星的勘探目的地。目前该地区已经激起了科学家的兴趣，研究表明沟槽周围的环境在过去可能非常湿润，同时还具有一定的古老热液流，能够为生命的成长提供足够的能源。因此一旦这里成为未来的勘探目的地，科学家希望带回火星样本，寻找其中是否存在生命。本项研究发表在《地质学》杂志上。
